    How do I know when a screw compressor needs an overhaul vs targeted repair?

    Symptoms alone are unreliable. The honest test is: oil particle count trending up over 3 consecutive samples, air-end vibration signature deviating from baseline, and inability to reach set pressure at nominal draw. If two of those three are positive, an overhaul discussion is legitimate. If only one, targeted repair almost always resolves it.

    What is the realistic lifetime of an industrial screw compressor?

    For a maintained oil-injected screw running 4,000-6,000 h/year: 60,000-80,000 h before first air-end overhaul, 120,000-160,000 h total useful life. Oil-free two-stage machines: 40,000-50,000 h before major overhaul, 100,000 h+ total. Neglected units die much earlier - usually from oil starvation or intake contamination, not age.

    Do you handle OEM warranty work?

    For most current-generation Atlas Copco, Kaeser and Ingersoll Rand machines, third-party authorised service does not void warranty provided documentation is complete. We keep the warranty paperwork clean. For units under first-year manufacturer coverage we can act as your technical proxy during OEM warranty claims.

    Can a VSD retrofit really pay back that fast?

    On a compressor room running one 55 kW screw at 60-70% average load, a VSD retrofit typically pays back in 14-22 months at Polish industrial electricity prices (0.65-0.85 PLN / kWh in 2025).
